One-Day Personality Development Workshop
True identity of personality lies not in outward appearance, but in one’s thoughts, conduct, and dedication to work: Eminent Litterateur Prof. Pravin Davane
“Personality Development Workshop” organized by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority concludes
A large number of senior officials and staff attended this workshop, including Secretary Kalpana Jagtap, Financial Controller Kanchan Tawde, Deputy Chief Engineer Rajkumar Pawar, Coordinator Nitin Pawar, Competent Authorities Ashwini Surve-Patil and Minal Palande, Executive Engineer Salim Sayyad, Assistant Director of Town Planning Ashok Raymane, Chief Legal Advisor Adv. Suman Prasad, Senior Counsel Adv. Sagar Gharat, Administrative Officer Anagha Patwardhan, Chief IT Officer Shreekant Navale and Accounts Officer Shirish Palav.
In his impactful and inspiring guidance on the “Art of Living,” Prof. Davane shared the mantra of viewing life with a positive outlook. He noted that while the face is what is visible, the personality is what is truly revealed. Therefore, he urged everyone to love their work, constantly evolve, discover themselves, and forge their own identity. He emphasized trusting one’s own values rather than looking to others to learn how to conduct oneself. “True happiness comes from the mindset of performing one’s work honestly, regardless of whether others do the same,” he added.
In his presidential address, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Malvi urged everyone—through the personality development workshop—to view their work with a more positive mindset and strive for excellence. He emphasized that we must consider how our actions and work can benefit others, noting that providing every slum dweller with a home of their own is the true source of inspiration for us.
In the second session of the workshop, counselor and mental wellness expert Sejal Natu spoke on the topic, “Let’s Recharge Our Mental Battery.” She emphasized that a healthy mind is the prerequisite for living a healthy and happy life. She defined a healthy mind as one that strikes a balance between positive thinking, emotional control, self-confidence, and the ability to adapt to situations.
While explaining the impact of the daily grind, work-related stress, changing relationships, expectations, and failures on the mind, they underscored the importance of safeguarding mental health. They highlighted the necessity of positive thinking, regular exercise, reading, meditation, pursuing hobbies, and spending time with family to “recharge one’s mental battery.” Furthermore, they noted that although stress is an integral part of life, it can be mitigated through proper management.
The officers and staff present were inspired by the engaging guidance—rich in life values—provided by veteran litterateur Prof. Pravin Davane and counselor Sejal Natu. All the officers and staff responded enthusiastically to the inspiring ideas shared during the workshop. The entire workshop was anchored by Office Superintendent Shilpa Natu and Public Relations Officer Abhijit Kotolikar.
